As a Facility Coordinator at Ryerson, you will work in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Supervisors to ensure overall facility and equipment maintenance planning. This person will also coordinate purchasing supplies, vendor management, and inventory control. Maintaining a safety-first environment and looking for continuous improvements will also be required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a facility coordinator role or equivalent is required
  • Background in mechanical engineering, maintenance and/or project management is required, experience within the metals industry or related field is an asset
  • Purchasing experience is required
  • Knowledge of some/all of the following systems is an asset: Agile, Excel, Ariba, AutoCad/SolidWorks, SAP or other ERP system
  • Strong computer literacy and IT support experience is an asset
  • Safety conscious and strong knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to the position, in compliance with the provincial regulations

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates full cycle MRO (Maintenance, repairs, operations) for material handling and processing equipment.
  • Purchases and maintains stock levels on supplies and consumables including reconciling purchase orders with vendor invoices using SAP Ariba.
  • Sourcing and obtaining quotes for various projects related to cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement. Includes determining ROI for projects and justification for capital expenditures.
  • Ensures security of building through maintaining CCTV, door access and alarm systems.
  • Maintenance planning and record keeping for all facility, IT, equipment and company fleet of tractor trailers.
  • Maintain record of contractor agreements, warrantees and spare parts programs.
  • Support Health & Safety program through addressing action items, chemical management (MSDS), inspections, auditing LOTO (lock out tag out), fire alarm/extinguisher checks, and ensuring adherence to site specific requirements such as air quality, noise level testing and machine guarding.
  • Be an asset to the remote IT team by supporting on site hardware changes or upgrades.
  • Manage pallet recycling, scrap metal and garbage disposal programs.
  • Performs all work with adherence to health, safety and environmental practices
  • Other duties as assigned by management
