Facility Manager – Maintenance

Location: Crewe / Ipswich / Southampton / Manchester
Freightliner are an established and leading rail freight provider who are committed to the continued investment in the latest locomotive technology, wagons and infrastructure to provide the quality of service that surpasses customer expectations. Freightliner is a nationwide operator with a fleet of over 175 locomotives and 3,000 wagons.
This is a new position reporting to the Intermodal Fleet Manager and is to support our depot management teams with their vehicle maintenance facilities.
Who are we looking for?
This is a new position and we are looking for someone who has the drive to proactively support our 4 intermodal maintenance depots to grow and deliver their facility maintenance requirements and manage all facility improvement projects. Our sites are located in Crewe, Ipswich, Southampton and Manchester Guide Bridge and the successful candidate can be based at anyone of these locations. Please note, given the nationwide location of our sites a certain amount of travel will be required in this role.
On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:
- Commitment to developing safe working practices.
- In depth knowledge of facility maintenance requirements with proven experience in this area.
- Experience within the role of maintenance management
- Ability to drive Continuous Improvement to ensure we achieve our targets and standardise our processes across our depots.
- Excellent oral communication, interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with staff, colleagues and customers
- Written communication skills with the ability to produce clear and concise reports, project plans and proposals.
What will be your responsibilities?
- Being a safety influencer by ensuring you and your team work safely at all times whilst always looking for opportunities to do things safer and more efficiently.
- Support the depot management teams to ensure they have a robust maintenance plan for their facilities and resolve any issues related to this.
- Seek out opportunities for improvement by harmonising processes, reating efficient maintenance schedules and managing suppliers.
- Own the depot facility improvement plans including CAPEX projects to create a fantastic working environment for out teams.
- Ensure depots are compliant with all legal legislation such as LOLOR, PUWER etc.
- Support the depot with internal and external audits including ISO9001 and ISO 14001
