Responsibilities:

CONTEXT OF THE ROLE

The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health has three Schools: Biological Sciences, Medical Sciences and Health Sciences. With over 30 undergraduate courses, and around 90 postgraduate taught courses, the Faculty in its own right is comparable to a medium-sized UK university.
The three schools together integrate discovery biology, clinical application and patient care and as the largest supplier of healthcare graduates to the NHS in the north-west of England the Faculty works closely with a range of partners in Greater Manchester. This structure also encourages collaborative working, enabling staff to deliver innovative, world-leading research that has a very real and positive impact on people’s lives here in the UK and across the globe.
The Internal Communications team is responsible for the clear and consistent delivery of communication and engagement activity for staff and students in the Faculty. The Faculty’s Internal Communications and Engagement Assistant will be responsible for supporting the team to achieve this by contributing to the creation, management and delivery of communications campaigns and activities using a variety of systems and channels. They will be critical in ensuring communications activity supports and engages colleagues as they work to transform lives.

OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To support the creation and delivery of communications activities across the Faculty supporting the Internal Communications and Engagement Officer and the Student Communications and Engagement Officer. The post holder will assist the team in all aspects of work undertaken including writing and publishing internal communications; supporting Faculty engagement events; assisting with writing and uploading website content; and working alongside student content creators, colleagues and other stakeholders to develop communications via all forms of media, including online and digital.
