Description:

FACULTY MEMBER, NUTRITION

The University of Saskatchewan invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Nutrition at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank within the Division of Nutrition and Dietetics, College of Pharmacy and Nutrition.
Applicants must hold a PhD in human nutrition or associated field and at least one of the positions must obtain registration with the Saskatchewan College of Dietitians within the first year of their appointment. Applicants are required to have demonstrated excellence in teaching and have a quality publication record of scholarly work. Expected is that the successful candidate will establish and/or maintain a collaborative program of research or practice-related scholarly work that complements or expands existing research, scholarly activities, and expertise within the Division of Nutrition and Dietetics. Duties include teaching within the College’s undergraduate and graduate nutrition programs, and supervising graduate students. Service on committees within the Division and College is required.
The University of Saskatchewan offers a wide breadth of programming for our researchers across a range of disciplines, but also has Signature Areas of special importance to our institution (https://research.usask.ca/about/signature-areas-of-research.php). The University also has the widest array of health science programs in Canada. The scope of these programs and strong affiliations with hospitals and healthcare facilities across the province contribute to an excellent environment for interprofessional teaching, clinical practice, and research. The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition is housed in the University’s Health Sciences Building, home to several health training programs, which will greatly support those applicants interested in creating interprofessional and collaborative models of nutrition-related research.
The successful candidate will be appointed to a tenure-track position. The salary bands (2025-2026 academic year) for this post are Assistant Professor $110,489 to $131,900 and Associate Professor $131,909 to $153, 329. This position comes with a comprehensive benefits package that includes a pension plan, life insurance (compulsory and voluntary), academic long-term disability, sick leave, travel insurance, death benefit, dental plan, extended health and vision care plan, employee assistance program, and flexible health and wellness spending program.
The competition is currently open until filled; applications will be reviewed beginning December 20, 2024, and the start date will be July 1, 2025. Please send a Curriculum Vitae, letter of introduction, statement of teaching philosophy and experience (if possible, summary of teaching evaluations), overview of proposed research/scholarly activities, sample(s) of recently published work and contact information for three academic referees, in confidence, to the chair of the search subcommittee, Dr. Gordon Zello, by email to gordon.zello@usask.ca and copied to Sandy Knowles, sandy.knowles@usask.ca.
Due to federal immigration requirements, we also ask candidates to indicate whether they are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or are otherwise already authorized to work at this position for the duration of the appointment, with an explanation if this last category is indicated.
