The Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics – Institute of Computer Science / Data Science Group – offers from the 1st of January
2025 the position as a
Research Assistant (f/m/d)
(Salary level E 13 TV-L)
with a regular working time of 100 %. This is a fixed-term position initially until 31st of December 2028 due to third-party funding within the meaning of the
Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG). The fixed-term period corresponds to the approved project period. The opportunity for a PhD in the field of
artificial intelligence (especially foundation models and knowledge graphs) is given. An extension is possible.
Your research duties and responsibilities include:
- Collection of corpora
- Research and implementation of inclusive foundation models
- Integration of background knowledge (e.g., commonsense knowledge graphs)
- Implementation on HPC cluster
- Evaluation using open evaluation platforms
- Publications at international venues
- Participation in network activities
We expect the following profile:
- You have a very good scientific M.Sc. degree in computer science or a related area that qualifies you for a PhD degree
- You have strong analytical and mathematical skills
- You have a background in knowledge graphs, knowledge representation or machine learning
- You are comfortable programming in Java or Python
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international team are indispensable for the position
- You have an interest in interdisciplinary scientific cooperation
Your CV must contain the following pieces of information:
- Grades of B.Sc. and M.Sc.

- A link to code examples (e.g., on GitHub)
- A list of your publications, if any
