The Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mathematics – Data Science Group – in the collaborative AI project SAIL (Sustainable Life-
cycle of Intelligent Socio-Technical Systems, https://www.sail.nrw/) offers a position as a
Research Assistant (f/m/d)
(Salary is according to E 13 TV-L)
starting as soon as possible with 100 % of regular working hours. The position is initially limited until 31st of July 2026 due to third-party funding and
offers the possibility to obtain further academic qualification in the field of knowledge graphs. The period of employment is governed by the Academic
Fixed-Term Contract Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG). The duration of the fixed term corresponds to the approved project period.
An extension is possible.
Your research duties and responsibilities include:
- Research on knowledge graph robustness
- Contributions to project’s results, to international conferences and written publications
- Collaboration in the activities of the network
We expect the following profile:
- You have a very good scientific M.Sc. degree in computer science or a related area that qualifies you for a PhD degree
- You have strong analytical and mathematical skills
- You have a background in knowledge graphs, knowledge representation or machine learning
- You are comfortable programming in Java or Python
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work in an international team are indispensable for the position
- You have an interest in interdisciplinary scientific cooperation
Your CV must contain the following pieces of information:
- Grades of B.Sc. and M.Sc.
- Details about the work positions that you held before, if any
- A link to code examples (e.g., on GitHub)
- A list of your publications, if any
- An indication as to whether your profile can be forwarded to potentially interested partners within the SAIL network
