Job Description
We are looking for a current student or recent graduate who can start as soon as possible as soon as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Apply monthly rental payments to tenants accounts
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Create and upload month-end accrual journal entries to MRI
  • Generate and send month end financial reports
  • Prepare year-end CAM/tax recoveries adjustment billings in accordance with the tenant leases
  • Reconcile property tax payments to tax payment schedules
  • Maintain the security deposit account and tenant ledger
  • Create/maintain various trackers (recurring billings tracker, reports status tracker, etc)
  • Review lease setup in MRI
  • Set up ACH/EFT/Wire payment requests
  • Support the preparation of property analysis such as NOI analysis, variance analysis and intercompany account reconciliations
  • Support the preparation of financial statements working files and assist with year-end audit queries
  • Provide accounting support to other term members on the accounting team and property/asset management team
  • Support the property management team with annual budget and reforecasts
  • Assistance with ad-hoc projects as requested

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Level 3- 4 Student
  • Post-secondary education in accounting candidate; working towards a CPA designation is an asset;
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills with excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across different departments;
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team within tight deadlines and to collaborate with various functional teams
  • Experience with lease interpretation is a key asset;
  • Strong project/portfolio management experience;
  • Strong understanding of CAM and Tax Recovery analysis;
  • Knowledge in MRI is an asset;
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of products; specifically with Excel
