Join our vibrant team at MacKillop Family Services as a Family Connect and Support & Permanency Support Program Worker (FCS & PSP), contributing to providing high quality intake, referral, outreach as well as providing high quality and effective case work services for Permanency Support Programs, supporting and developing carers, and supporting the recruitment of foster and kinship carers.
This is a 0.8 EFT position.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A tertiary qualification in social work, community development or relevant field.
  • Valid and current Driver’s Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid and current NSW Working with Children Check;
  • Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The FCS & PSP, prioritize providing necessary services to vulnerable children, young people, and families. Our approach is child-centered and family-focused, aimed at identifying strengths, needs, risks, and protective factors.
We strive to build collaborative relationships with a variety of specialized and mainstream services in order to enhance outcomes for children, young people, and their families. Additionally, we work closely with Statutory Bodies and support services to improve connections and create integrated service responses.
Our commitment extends to ensuring that children and young people in Out-of-Home-Care and Permanency Support Programs receive services tailored to their needs. We provide support to foster and kinship carers to ensure they can offer high-quality care and positive outcomes for the children in their care.
We continue to foster collaborative relationships with specialized and mainstream services to enhance results for children, young people, and families. Furthermore, we prioritize establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) agencies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include providing intake, referral, and coordination services for vulnerable children and families, maintaining client records, promoting awareness of services, building relationships with local agencies, ensuring child wellbeing, meeting individual needs, supporting carers, staying informed of policy developments, and participating in recruitment and training activities.
