My client, a well-established law firm in Didcot, is seeking a Family Law Legal Assistant to join their growing Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised professional with experience in Family Law to provide vital support to a busy Solicitor.
ABOUT YOU:
My client is looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Legal Assistant with:
- Legal assistant experience, ideally within Family Law
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Proficiency in legal case management software and IT systems
- The ability to work independently while supporting the Family Solicitor
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
You will play a key role in supporting the Family Solicitor, ensuring the smooth progression of cases. Responsibilities will include case management, client liaison, document drafting, diary coordination and general legal support. The role will involve assisting with a range of family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, child arrangements and domestic abuse cases.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Client communication – Handle queries professionally via phone, email and in person
- Case management – Maintain and update client files using the firm’s case management system
- Document drafting – Prepare legal documents, including divorce applications and financial agreements
- Diary & appointment management – Schedule meetings, hearings and deadlines
- Billing & invoicing – Assist with preparing invoices and liaising with the Finance Team
- Compliance & due diligence – Ensure all SRA regulations (AML checks, ID verification) are met
- General legal support – Filing, photocopying, correspondence and handling legal paperwork
