EXPERIENCED MATRIMONIAL LEGAL SECRETARY – FULL-TIME – CHELMSFORD

My client, a well-established and highly respected law firm, is currently seeking an Experienced Matrimonial Legal Secretary to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled legal secretary with a strong background in family and matrimonial law to take the next step in their career.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a legal secretary within a family/matrimonial law department.
  • Strong knowledge of Legal Aid procedures and experience with CCMS.
  • Proficiency in bundle preparation (familiarity with Bundledocs is advantageous).
  • Experience using the HMCTS portal for case management.
  • A proactive, organised, and detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Excellent communication skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • The ability to work effectively within a team and independently when required.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a full-time, permanent position based at their Chelmsford office, with working hours of 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The role offers a chance to work in a supportive and professional environment, assisting experienced solicitors and legal professionals in delivering high-quality legal services to clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing efficient secretarial and administrative support to the family law team.
  • Drafting, formatting, and managing legal documents related to matrimonial and family law matters.
  • Handling Legal Aid cases and ensuring full competency in the use of CCMS.
  • Preparing and compiling bundles (experience with Bundledocs is an advantage).
  • Managing case files and documentation through the HMCTS portal.
  • Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties professionally and efficiently.
  • Handling care proceedings, divorce and finances, private children matters, Family Law Act cases, and other aspects of matrimonial and family law.
