Description:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE JOB:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)
  • Parent or Care Giver of a child (under 18 years of age) diagnosed with a behavioral or emotional disturbance that has successfully navigated support systems for at least one year
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE JOB:

  • Bilingual
  • Experience teaching parenting classes or support groups

Responsibilities:

  • Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language
  • Will serve as the Family Partner for the Family & Youth Diversion Program
  • Will provide support and serve as an advocate to parents/guardians with a child/adolescent diagnosed with an emotional/behavioral disturbance
  • Will assist the team in coordinating monthly Support Group meetings to families
  • Will agree to training in order to obtain Family Partner Certification within first year of employment
  • This position requires competency in performing public speaking and a working knowledge of marketing practices
  • Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concerns if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised
