FAMILY RESOURCE COORDINATOR - FINANCIAL NAVIGATOR

Do you enjoy helping others and have a strong customer service orientation? Are you looking for a rewarding position in a fast-paced environment where you can utilize your administration, time management and communication skills? Do you have experience connecting patients and families to programs and/or services? If you are interested in contributing to the amazing care that SickKids provides, then we have a position for you!
We are seeking a Financial Navigator to join our Medical-Financial Working group which has been working to develop a Financial Navigator Program for the Neonatal Neurodevelopmental Follow-up (NNFU) clinic at SickKids.
The candidate will be involved in a research study aiming to trial the new Financial Navigator Program in the NNFU. The program will be flexible, and family centered.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist families to secure financial resources external to the hospital through government programs(e.g. Disability Tax Credit) and linking with community organizations and foundations.
  • Assist families with tax filing, applying for benefits and financial counseling.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and plan responses to family needs.
  • Work with community and government partners and programs to coordinate and assist families in securing resources.
  • Present to Medical Financial Partnership Working Group on relevant resources and the services the Financial Navigator Program provides.
