Summary
The Governors are seeking to appoint a Family Support Worker (permanent contract) who has recent experience of working with children, young people and families to support the needs of the community we serve. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of our pastoral team, dedicated to giving the children the best life chances possible, and building the futures they deserve. We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and knowledgeable Family Support Worker to work under the guidance of the SENDCO and Designated safeguarding Lead in order to manage the learning and needs of our children and families. Due to the nature of this position, ideally the candidate needs to hold a current driving licence and have access to a car.

We are looking for someone who:

  • works with a genuine child-centred approach;
  • is passionate and knowledgeable about children’s learning and development
  • has proven record of working successfully with a range of stakeholders in school to support children, young
  • people and their families through interventions to raise achievement
  • has experience of working in a personalised way to best meet the needs of children, young people and families to overcome barriers to learning
  • is able to work effectively in managing their time and have excellent communication skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Professional/academic Level 3 Qualification or equivalent or substantial experience in a relevant technical, specialised or operational field.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Working at national occupational standards (NOS) for learning, and knowledge / skills equivalent to current national qualifications in learning, development and support services for children, young people and those who care for them at Level 3

Essential Experience

  • Experience of, or the ability to demonstrate the competence to work directly with individual children, young people and families to identify and assess their needs and make appropriate planned responses to improve outcomes.

Desirable Experience
Experience of working with a wide range of other professionals to develop and deliver shared initiatives for children, young people and families
