Description:

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and newly qualified or experienced systemic family therapist, who will be able to work with our young people and their families and carers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You will be part of an experienced and reflective multi-disciplinary team offering generic and specialist assessments.
Systemic thinking is highly valued in the team. You will offer systemic consultations to the team and wider services to support children and young people. You will supervise and support the multidisciplinary team in thinking systemically about complex cases.
To hold a protected family therapy caseload and actively support the family therapy clinic, with a reflecting team.
To provide specialist family therapy advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients’ formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
To plan and implement family therapy treatment or management of a client’s mental health problems using evidence based practice.
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the family .
To support the duty provision, taking part in the duty rota.

We offer regular clinical supervision from our senior family therapists, as well as management supervision within an environment that values the mutual support and skills of team members. In addition, you will be part of a team of family therapists across Oxford Health Foundation Trust who meet for CPD to share our work and consider new learning. You will be invited to part of delivering systemic training to CAMHS staff.
We have an industrious local Association of Family Therapy which has an active reading and writing group, as well as offering exciting face to face CPD opportunities.
To provide specialist systemic assessments of clients referred to the team utilising information from a range of systemic methodologies (identifying and prioritising interactional patterns/ dynamics/ context) and employing research based models in order to formulate and implement plans with individuals, couples, families and carers in the context of the professional and wider social systems.
To plan and implement formal family therapy treatment and/or management of clients mental health problems, based upon clients problems and employing methods of proven efficacy.
To implement appropriate systemic interventions for individuals, carers, families and groups, adjusting and refining formulations, adjusting and refining formulations drawing upon different explanatory models and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses.
To evaluate and make decisions about treatment options taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and complex factors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped the individuals, family or group.
To be responsible and accountable for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by family therapy based standard care plans.
To provide specialist systemic advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients’ formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan, in the context of multi-disciplinary team working.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual clients and to provide advice to other professionals on systemic aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
To provide advice, guidance and consultation to peer and junior professionals within the service, both individually and by attendance at team referral and review meetings.
To take part in the duty rota and emergency assessments as agreed with the Operational Lead
To work as a key worker/contextual intervention/care coordinator for complex cases
