Description:
A leading organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking a Farm Sustainability Lead to help drive their sustainability initiatives. This role is key to supporting their farmer-suppliers in achieving ambitious sustainability goals. If you’re passionate about sustainability in agriculture and have a strong academic background in Agricultural Science, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, or a related field, with a strong interest in sustainability.
- Proven experience in advising or consulting with farmers and primary producers, helping them integrate sustainable practices.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex sustainability concepts.
- Strong team player with networking skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and represent the organization at farmer and stakeholder meetings at both local and national levels.
- Co-ordinate and oversee farm sustainability programs such as the Greener Dairy Program.
- Manage the sustainability bonus program and engage with key stakeholders to ensure success.
- Work closely with agricultural research organizations and local farmer networks to ensure best practices and innovation in sustainability.
- Manage and mentor a farm sustainability team, fostering a positive work culture focused on collaboration and development.
- Lead initiatives focused on improving farm sustainability and share expertise with external partners, aligning with industry standards and guidelines.
