Australia has a thriving agricultural scene – from small hobby farms to sprawling acres of crop, there is so much variation within the industry. Have an interest in the agriculture industry? Allianz have an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Farm Underwriting team as a Farm Underwriter. This position would suit somebody who thrives in delivering a market leading customer experience. In this role you will be responsible for providing a high level of underwriting service to our Broker partners in NSW, and nationally where required, working collaboratively with our broader underwriting and distribution teams to ensure appropriate underwriting decisions are made and our customers are put at the heart of our decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Actioning new business referrals and providing renewals and endorsements aligned to the Farm Underwriting Strategy, having regard to the needs and circumstances of customers.
  • Completing workflows such as new business referrals, renewals, and endorsements to ensure delivery of quality products and services.
  • Managing relationships across a designated portfolio, with a focus on underwriting Farm insurance as per delegated authority limits.
  • Anticipating and providing solutions to customer’s needs from available information to design sustainable responses to suit their circumstances.
  • Ensuring business offering is aligned with divisional objectives, portfolio balance and Cycle Management strategies (growth and profit).
  • Maximising retention of assigned accounts and ensuring timely review of renewal business in conjunction with internal requirements.
  • Underwriting with adherence to underwriting guidelines ensuring we are actively managing the portfolio and applying remediation to stressed accounts to ensure we maintain a profitable position and manage any inherent risks.
  • Staying abreast of market conditions and trends and maintaining a market presence in SA and the Farm community within Allianz, providing feedback to stakeholders and taking action to capitalise on business opportunities.
  • Ensuring appropriate actions are taken to ensure all contract certainty targets are adhered to.
