Position Summary: Embark on an exciting opportunity as a Winery Farmers’ Market Associate with Flat Rock Cellars. This dynamic role involves representing our winery at local farmers’ markets, showcasing and selling our exceptional wines to market-goers. The ideal candidate should have a deep appreciation for wine, possess excellent customer service skills, be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, and have a reliable mode of transportation. Knowledge of Ontario geography is a valuable asset for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in sales, customer service, or a related field.
- Passion for wine and eagerness to share knowledge with customers.
- Reliable transportation to travel to various farmers’ markets in Ontario.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical setup and breakdown tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Ontario geography is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Market Representation:
- Set up and organize the winery booth at designated farmers’ markets.
- Engage with customers, offering tastings, and providing information about our wines.
- Act as a brand ambassador, fostering positive relationships with market-goers.
- Sales and Customer Service:
- Effectively communicate the unique qualities and characteristics of our wines.
- Assist customers in selecting and purchasing wines by the bottle.
- Handle cash and electronic transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Market Logistics:
- Ensure the timely and professional setup and breakdown of the winery booth.
- Maintain a clean and attractive display to attract and retain customers.
- Collaborate with market organizers to comply with event guidelines and regulations.
- Product Knowledge:
- Stay informed about the winery’s current offerings, promotions, and events.
- Provide detailed information about each wine, including tasting notes and food pairings.
- Continuously educate oneself on the winemaking process and industry trends.
- Geographical Awareness:
- Demonstrate knowledge of Ontario geography, including key cities, regions, and local attractions.
- Assist customers with recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and winery visits.
