Family Services York Region (FSYR) is a not-for-profit mental health agency providing counselling and outreach support services to individuals, couples, families, groups and communities across York Region. We are hiring a Farsi Speaking Outreach Worker to join our team! The Outreach Worker is responsible for promoting and providing services and information primarily to the Farsi speaking community in York Region. These include:
- Women’s support and parenting groups
- Supportive counselling
- Case management
- Presentations and workshops
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience working in a clinical setting.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through education and work experience.
- Demonstrated connections with various cultural communities and ability to perform outreach and engagement functions with diverse groups.
- Knowledge of issues related to domestic violence and sexual abuse/assault.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work remotely from home with internet capacity and in the office, as required, and travel within York Region.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- An energetic and welcoming personality with ability to be versatile, flexible and a team player.
- A satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid driver’s license and use of reliable vehicle.
- Fluency in Farsi is required.
