Role description
We are seeking a skilled Engineer to join our Forming Department at our Knottingley Business Unit. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of our forehearth and feeder equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:

A strong Engineering aptitude with a proven track record in maintenance and repair. Must hold an NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline.
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the glass industry.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities:

Optimize forehearth and feeder equipment performance during job changeovers by making necessary adjustments and modifications.
Conduct routine maintenance, including cleaning, inspection, and component replacement.
Accurately record equipment settings and parameters in the APS JOJO database for future reference.
Prepare refractory equipment to maintain a readily available inventory of spare parts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain open communication and optimize processes.
Proactively monitor equipment operation, respond to alarms, and implement corrective actions.
Uphold strict adherence to health and safety guidelines to create a secure working environment.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing lean methodologies such as SMED and TPM.
