Description:

POSITION SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in an engineering role
  • Experience in area relative to course of instruction and ability to develop/deliver technical

classroom training

  • Candidate shall have good communication and presentation skills
  • Candidate shall be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint

Area Security Access: No Security Clearance is needed for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who have the following are preferred:

  • understanding of NQA-1 Section 3 Design Control
  • Experience in STAR and APS applications
  • Has mastered technical field, is recognized as internal expert, has depth of knowledge to tackle any problem in field.
  • Contributes to advancing knowledge.
  • experience with SRS Self-Assessments.
  • Familiarity with Engineering manuals, procedures, standards and engineering programs at SRS is required
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred, but not required
  • Previous SRS engineering experience is preferred

Responsibilities:

DUTIES (Position Specific):

Provide sta augmentation technical support for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) in the analysis, development, maintenance and implementation of Engineering procedures, guides and principles, as well as acting as a resource for programmatic inquiries. General responsibilities include:

  • Revising E7 Manual and Manual 1B Procedure 5.19 Suspect and Counterfeit Item (S/CI) Program
  • Updating Engineering guide documents
  • Providing technical support to eld engineers in application of Engineering procedures and principles
  • Mentoring engineers in their technical development on the implementation of Engineering principles
  • Performing responsibilities of a Lead Causal Analyst as needed
  • Providing other technical support in the area of Engineering Programs as needed

Provide sta augmentation training support for Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) in the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation (ADDIE) of assigned instructional programs in accordance with approved Training Program Descriptions and Training Plans. General responsibilities

include:

  • Attend training to qualify for SME/instructor status on one or more courses
  • Review and provide input for course and exam improvements
  • Grade course exams and provide feedback to students
  • Provide instruction for specied engineering courses to engineers to include but are not limited to:
  • Manual E7 Conduct of Engineering
  • Manual 1B Procedure 5.19 S/CI Program

Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
Work Hours: Flexible work hours, part time up to 40 hours per week, not to exceed 1000 hours annually, and 100 hours overtime. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Engineering Business and Programs Manager.
Education: Minimum of Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in an applicable engineering
discipline (e.g., electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, nuclear, chemical, computer science, computer related, etc.)
Experience/Skills: Considered an internal expert in area of expertise. Contributes to advancing
knowledge in eld of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and
professional society presentations. Can solve complex problems in eld.
