Description:
Job Summary
Carries out established jail procedures and activities in a manner which will ensure the security and wellbeing of the inmates.
Minimum Qualifications
1) High school diploma, or the equivalent;
2) Valid Driver’s license
3) First Aid and Emergency Medical skills or ability to receive within six months of employment
4) Proficient recordkeeping, computer data entry, and office equipment skills
Examples of Duties (specific duties for female inmates along with all other duties as required)
- Inmate medication management
- Administration of CPR/First aid to inmates as necessary
- Monitoring of inmates overall well-being, including mental health
- Safety and security of inmate and other personnel (Ex: while in court, visiting with doctors, attending church services, ect..)
- Perform/assist with booking procedures of inmates
- Monitoring of jail facility and inmates providing a clean, safe, and secure environment
Hours: 40 hours/week. Overnights, 12 hour shifts, with every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday off.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $26.25-$34.25 per hour, depending on experience plus a $1.50 shift differential (for night shift). This position is eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits, including state pension plan, vacation time, sick time, personal and holiday leave time in accordance with their specific union contract. In addition, the position is eligible for the County’s cafeteria health plan, consisting of three health plans and carrier options; Dental, Vision, and Life insurance; Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts; Long-term and Short-Term Disability; Supplemental Accident, Hospital, and Critical Illness plans; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The County contributes monthly health benefits to aide in the rising of insurance costs with the contribution rate evaluated annually. Additionally, employees have the option to take part of this $749.14 contribution as cash in lieu of benefits.
