Description:
FIBRE TECHNICIAN / VAULT INSTALLER
GCS Group has immediate openings for experienced fibre technicians to join our growing telecom construction company.
Candidates must have experience with fibre drilling / installation projects and be qualified to drive the support vehicles used to transport this equipment to and from various project sites.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 1+ years experience working on fibre / telecom installation projects;
- Read and interpret plans, locates or diagrams and perform required work;
- Meticulous and high attention to detail;
- Safety conscious;
- Cable pulling an asset;
- Valid Class 5 license;
- Clean driver’s abstract (3 year);
- Must be able to work in varied and cold weather conditions;
- Physically fit with no physical limitations;
- Capable of lifting 50lbs;
- Strong work ethic;
- Ability to think and react to changing conditions quickly;
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work in a fast- paced environment with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks.
Safety Tickets
- CSTS 2020 (required)
- Ground Disturbance – Supervisor Level 2 (required)
- Standard First Aid is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret plans, locates or diagrams and perform required work;
- Underground utility installations for telecommunications;
- Installation of fibre;
- Installation of vaults/pedestals
- Shoveling and digging
- Backfilling
- Participate in site safety including pre-job orientations, toolbox meetings, ensure all safety paperwork is accurate and complete;
- Submit daily logs to the Project Coordinator at the end of each shift;
- Responsible for ensuring permits are valid and completing tickets;
- Other related fibre installation tasks as needed.
