Responsibilities:

OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

We are currently recruiting a Senior Project Manager / FIDIC Engineer’s Representative (Contract Administrator) with consultancy Data Centre experience to join a client focused team within the wider European team to help develop and drive our Data Centre capability, working on high profile projects throughout Europe.
This is an exciting opportunity for a high calibre individual to join and strengthen our team. RLB’s Data Centre team works on wide range of projects including new build, fitout, refurbishment and capacity upgrades. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual to take responsibility for providing all services relating to contract administration on Data Centre projects. There may also be further opportunities to work oversees within this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To lead and oversee administration of FIDIC Design & Build Yellow Book contracts (in conjunction with the support Project Management partners).
  • Carry out the duties of the Engineer under the contracts between the Employer and Contractor(s).
  • Provide such assistance to the Employer’s team as required for them to carry out their respective duties.
  • Schedule, chair, and minute weekly Engineer’s status update meetings.
  • Receive and process Contractor(s) notices and early warnings, and respond accordingly under the contract, whether by notice or other means as necessary.
  • Monitor the Employer’s team and Contractor(s) with respect to the performance of their duties under the contract, and advise with respect to all parties fulfilling their contractual obligations.
  • Check that variations and instructions are being issued, processed, and correctly circulated, and advise / agree with Employer on all instructions that may need to be issued.
  • Issue instructions, statements, certificates, payment certificates, opinions, account decisions, and notices as may be necessary under the contract.
  • Provide assistance to the Employer as may reasonably be required with respect to claims or disputes avoidance.
  • Determine all applications for extension of time under the contract.
  • Assist the Cost Manager to negotiate and agree Contractor(s) final accounts.
  • Issue completion certificates, administer defects liability provisions, and issue and notices of completion of making good defects.
  • Regular reporting as necessary to clients and internal RLB teams.
  • Proactive management of contract administration teams, potentially across multiple projects.
  • Implementation and management of change control processes as required.
  • To play a leading role in the development of FIDIC Engineer’s Representative services as a new service line within the European Project Management team.
  • To assist Associates / Partners in the management of the Data Centre Project management team including line management duties where applicable.
  • To support development of targeted marketing material, bid documents, capability statements and attend networking events relating to Data Centres.
  • To assist the Project Management Partners in developing a pipeline of Data Centre opportunities.
  • To support in the development of fee proposals and responses to RFPs.
  • Take personal responsibility for complying with Environmental, Health, Safety, Security and Quality Standards.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a Data Centre consultancy environment and demonstrate a positive proactive approach to the role, and will be committed to delivering customer service excellence, with good commercial results.

  • Qualifications - Degree level.
  • Chartership - Professional (chartered) qualification (MCIOB, MRICS, ChPP, etc).
  • Technical - Understands technical aspects of project delivery from inception to post-completion and is able to identify and promote solutions. Can lead on contractual matters and procurement routes to clients.
  • Managerial - Ability to manage a project from inception to post completion with senior management support, obtaining positive written client feedback.
  • Behaviours - Recognised as a positive, collaborator who shares knowledge freely and offers support to their peers and seniors. Recognised as a team player within a project environment with a strong willingness to learn.
  • Experience – Lead Contracts Administrator for Data Centre projects (Client or consultancy side) (£20million+)
