Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated agronomist with a field trial background and exceptional people, time and program management skills.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE ITSELF?

Reporting to the National Field Program Manager, the successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with the agronomy team and external parties to design, implement, and evaluate field trials
  • Assist in the establishment, monitoring and data collection of greenhouse trials
  • Conduct intensive soil sampling campaigns for small plot trials
  • Collect and record data on crop growth, pest and disease incidence, and environmental factors
  • Frequent monitoring and management of crop health, irrigation, and fertilisation to ensure optimal growth of our field trials
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarising trial results and findings.

WHAT KIND OF PERSON WILL FIT THE ROLE?

The successful applicant will have a range of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agronomy, or soil science
  • Experience with Australian wheat, barley and canola systems
  • Strong understanding of agronomic principles and soil fertility management
  • Knowledge of greenhouse and small plot trial methodologies
  • Familiarity with soil sampling techniques and laboratory analysis
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and research findings
