Selective is seeking a field coordinator/trainer who will provide guidance and training in the implementation and execution of underwriting software, workflow procedures and practices for agents, AMSs and regional staff members. Supports new business production and develops profitable growth opportunities with current and new distribution partners. Serves as field liaison between company, its authorized representatives and regional office staff. Provides web-based solutions to our agency staff while keeping management informed of technical changes in the agency force that may affect the company’s ability to retain current business and write new business.
This position will be remote in the State of New Jersey.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide agency on-boarding, support, and training for Selective’s automation products at agencies on-site and via webinar training. Continuous work and communication with new and existing agents to satisfy their technology needs. Provide training to AMSs in order to prepare them to successfully train our agents and be accountable and responsible for the use of Selective’s automation.
  • Train and assist with the effective utilization of Selective’s automation tools for agency staff on usage and best practice methods for Commercial Lines Rating, Real-Time Rating/Upload, Commercial Lines download and other intranet related activities. Provide technology training and assistance on eSelect®(Selective’s intranet) navigation including Agency tools such as sweep, commissions, email set up, transaction reports, download, how-to guides, and on demand videos. Provide mentoring to less experienced field technology specialists on the best practices for training and using Selective’s systems.
  • Drive, analyze, and monitor agency technology usage within region to achieve results. Work with Business Intelligence to ensure data tracking aligns with business objectives. Make recommendations to AMSs and implement modifications in order to maximize those results or achievements.
  • Responsible for air and auto travel primarily to agents’ offices and regional office but also to other regions to support other field technology specialists and internal tech support team. Travel represents approximately 40-60%.
  • Identify and develop educational training for agents, underwriters, and internal tech support team on automation products and services including field training on Selective’s automation systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting and analysis support for Selective automation products with the agents and AMSs in region. Recognize existing or possible issues prior to problem development.
  • Frequently review agency business applications/software to determine optimal usage in order to meet business needs.
  • Develop and cultivate relationships within industry in order to stay apprised of industry information through participation in industry conferences. Identify and analyze industry conferences/groups/events to understand the value and make recommendations on Tech Support Team’s attendance and participation. Develop and conduct presentations as well as participate in panel discussions at industry conferences and meetings representing Selective and the technology we provide our agency partners. Coordinate industry conference reception including all logistics, as needed. Keep BSU and regional management apprised of those items as well as new ideas encountered in the field.
  • Assist with implementing enhancements and new automation initiatives through regional support, testing, and training. Pilot initiatives and provide feedback and recommendations to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Communicate with BSU manager concerning field technology concerns recommending solutions and provide issue resolution documentation for questions in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Must have valid State-issued driver’s license in good standing.
  • 5-7 years in Commercial Property Casualty Insurance, company and agency policy writing, agency management systems and customer service.
  • Must have ability to lead projects and pilots.
  • College Degree preferred.
  • CPCU, AIC, ARM, CISR, CIC preferred, but not required.
  • Superior interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to train others on system usage.
  • Strong diplomacy skills along with ability to work with and facilitate teams of highly diverse people.
  • Must be self-directed.

Salary Range for this role is: $78,000.00-$112,000.00.
The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective’s footprint. Additional considerations include the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
