Field Data Collector

MOBIA is currently recruiting a Field Data Collector in St John’s NL, Corner Brook NL, Gander NL. This role is a term opportunity of up to 9 months.
In this role you will be responsible for capturing utility pole and customer premise information pertaining to existing telecom infrastructure in various field locations, using a state-of-the-art GIS handheld unit. You will be accountable to plan your day efficiently to provide accurate, comprehensive data with an approved set of guidelines back to an administrative resource. As a field data collector, you can expect to spend approximately 90% of your time outdoors.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to navigate environmental terrain and tolerate various weather conditions.
- Ability to work outside 90% of the time.
- Ability to work independently 90% of the time.
- Must be a team player, dedicated to providing timely high-quality data for other departments.
- Completion of post-secondary education.
- Must be able to travel within and outside of your residing city, as determined by project requirements, in which case, overnight or extended remote work can, and will, be required.
- Ability to travel for 8-day (or longer) trips (work-related travel expenses covered) when field location distances exceed a reasonable daily commute distance.
- Self-starter with high attention to detail
- Customer Service focused individual that takes pride in delivering high quality data results
- Must have a valid G driver’s license with a clear driving history.
- Proficiency with MS-Office; and the ability to learn new systems and software programs.
- Proactive problem solver with strong listening skills.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to interface with other departments
- Must have a technical aptitude for digital hand-held devices and mobile app software.
As a Field Data Collector, you will receive training from MOBIA to get you acquainted with the role.
