Description:

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.
we are looking for an engineer for the Product Introduction department in Copenhagen, who is responsible for testing and troubleshooting of the new train sets that Alstom will deliver over the next number of years. If you want to support the testing and reliability growth of the new train sets in Denmark and on test trips throughout Europe, then this job might be for you.
Alstom won the tender to deliver at least 103 of the Future trains to the Danish railways for delivery over the coming years. In this connection, a Product Introduction department in Copenhagen has been established to ensure the quality of the deliveries, which are planned to begin in 2026. A service department will also be established to handle maintenance of the new train sets. When all train sets have been delivered over a number of years, the employees from the Product Introduction department will become part of the service department.

YOUR BACKGROUND AND SKILLS:

You probably have a relevant engineering degree or many years of relevant experience in trains. In addition to having a good theoretical understanding, you are also expected to be able to be “hands-on”. In addition, it is important that you like to travel and get out on test drives and visits to internal suppliers in Europe.

In addition, you should meet the following:

  • An engineering degree (e.g. electrical or mechanical) or several years of relevant experience that can compensate for an engineering degree.
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify the root causes of faults on a train set.
  • Experience from working with trains is an advantage but not a requirement.
  • Good understanding and knowledge of safety in the workplace.
  • Structured and good at ensuring good quality in reports in databases, etc.
  • Being able to be flexible in relation to travel. (You periodically drive on different train sets that are tested in Europe)
  • Can communicate in English and preferable also in Danish in writing and speech.

Responsibilities:

  • Support technical tests and investigations during the warranty period for new trainsets.
  • Investigate the root cause of errors in order to develop corrective and preventive measures.
  • Help define the troubleshooting strategy in collaboration with our PI Trouble Shooter.
  • Provide input to PI management about e.g. customer satisfaction and product improvements.
  • Ensure a complete and good quality of reporting of errors and deviations in Alstom’s Failure Management database.
  • Drive Reliability Growth (product improvements) through investigations of the reported faults/incidents and implementation of reliability forecasting.
  • Support technical review with internal and external suppliers, partners, customers and authorities.
  • Support the preparation and implementation of Field Modification (FM)
