Description:

We have an exciting opportunity at Thames Water to join our Home Counties Waste Network team as a Field Engineer.
Your role will be to set up / oversee emergency and planned flow management activity (e.g. tankering and over-pumping) on the sewer network, often collaborating with colleagues in the logistics team and Network Engineers. You will also work closely with our civils and non-civils service providers, to ensure that network repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently so that flow management activity can be stood down as soon as possible.
In addition, the successful candidate will oversee the plant hire process for their area, ensuring equipment is returned when no longer needed and monthly charges incurred are accurate. During quieter periods, the field engineer will carry out infiltration investigations to support the targeting of planned investment in the region to reduce pollution and flooding incidents
Due to the nature of this role you will be expected to travel across a wide area between North and South Home Counties.

  • Carrying out field surveys so playbooks can be developed for new flow management activities; ensuring accurate and sufficiently detailed information to allow designs to be implemented with no issues.
  • Work alongside our suppliers and contractors to ensure all work is completed in safe and timely manner and in accordance with Thames Waters standards and procedures.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, to ensure flow management works are planned and communicated as appropriate.
  • Carry out contractor auditing; ensuring that all works undertaken meet the Thames Water Health, Safety and Wellbeing standards and in line with business requirements.
