Gain valuable hands-on oil & gas field experience by working as a Field Engineering student at Canadian Natural’s St. Albert field location with the Conventional team. You will have the chance to contribute to challenging projects that will develop your expertise and prepare you for full-time employment. You will develop skills and add value while also having the chance to meet other students and partake in initiatives such as the Student Social Committee!
- Term length: 4 months
- Term start: May 2025 ( Mandatory safety training: First week of May 2025)
- Job location: St Albert, AB – Field Office
- Shift schedule: 5 x 2 – 8 hours (Monday – Friday)

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Obtain baseline engineering experience and exposure in a wide variety of tasks while working with multidisciplinary teams and industry programs in a fast paced environment
- Develop skills in organizational reliability to identify opportunities to improve existing systems and reduce overall operating costs
- Perform optimization on light oil and heavy oil wells utilizing design programs and engineering principals to increase production
- Provide technical support for data analysis and the preparation of various reports
- Participate in field visits to perform facility audits, collect field data and participate in field driven projects
Responsibilities:
- Currently enrolled in your 2 nd , 3 rd , or 4 th year of an engineering degree program. Chemical, Mechanical, Energy, and Petroleum/Oil & Gas disciplines preferred.
- Previous experience operating in Oil & Gas preferred.
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license
- Motivated, takes initiative, collaborative, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities
