The Opportunity
Under the general direction of the Supervisor, North Operations in the Wolf Pipeline Business Unit, and taking daily guidance from the Lead Operator; the Field Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of Wolf Midstream Pipeline assets. In addition, the Field Operator is expected to participate in emergency response training and activities.
This is a full-time, permanent, camp position based out of our Conklin area location. Transportation to site is provided. The shift for this role is 7 days on 7 days off. This position requires the successful candidate to live within 350kms of Conklin, AB.
Key Responsibilities
- Start up and commissioning of pipeline and facilities
- Operate and maintain LACT’s, Pump Stations and other field related facilities
- Proactive inspection of Wolf sites for inefficiencies/deficient equipment, procedures or conditions and initiate corrective action
- Identify abnormal operating conditions or operating conditions where emergency response is necessary; determine corrective action and execute
- Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (Avantis) to complete work orders, purchase requisitions, work requests, timesheets
- Perform and or supervise pigging activities as required
- Activities as outlined in the pipeline maintenance programs
- Product sampling and testing
- Housekeeping on all sites and buildings
- Understand and follow Wolf HSE Management System
- Supervise third party contractors for safety and work quality
- Communicate and cooperate with producers, shippers, and receivers at the field level
- Prepare and update, safe work procedures and operating procedures and strive for safe & efficient operations
- Participate in emergency response training and activities
- Some travel maybe required
NOTE: Overtime and responding to call outs is required on an as needed basis. After hour contact by use of company cell phone will be a requirement as well.
Qualifications and Experience
SKILLS:
- Knowledge of pipeline operations, equipment, and regulations
- Strong troubleshooting ability in an industrial environment
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills to interact with stakeholders
- Basic to intermediate computer skills are required
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma
- Trade or technical certification would be an asset
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 3 years Oil & Gas operating related experience with preference given to liquid pipelines
- Health, Safety and Environmental safety training and experience, including H2S, First Aid, WHMIS
- Valid driver’s license
- This is a safety sensitive position and is subject to the relevant requirements of Alcohol and Drug Policy which includes pre-assignment testing
