BREEDING SEED PRODUCTION FIELD RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Bayer CropScience is seeking a highly motivated individual to become part of the multi-disciplinary Seed Production & Field Testing organization. Based out of Carman, Manitoba, the primary responsibilities of this permanent role, Research Associate, are to partner with and support the Site Operations Guide along with the Field Agronomist and Seed Processing Operations Teams to effectively coordinate and deliver field nursery production and related processes to support worldwide evaluation and commercialization of agricultural products.
This is a permanent position based out of Carman, Manitoba.

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

• Possess a Manitoba pesticide applicators license or have the ability to obtain one
• Knowledge of precision farming equipment and applications
• Experience in supervising or coaching others

• Assist in various aspects of the canola and soybean field nursery programs including equipment preparation, planting and harvesting, field maintenance, agronomic note collection, and seed processing
• Provide seasonal support to canola seed processing operations including shipping, receiving, inventory, seed treating and packaging and process optimization
• Supervision and training of temporary contract employees performing seed processing or field harvesting operations
• Actively participate in the site safety, quality management and process improvement programs
• Maintain equipment and facilities for safe and effective operation
