Description:

QUALIFICATIONS/ CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:

  • Chemistry or food engineering / technology with a bachelor’s or master`s degree.
  • Min. 5 years of experience in food R&D, technical service, food chemistry, polymer science or food ingredients technical support in the food & beverage industry in the target geography.
  • Strong track record in supporting food processing companies in developing new food products.
  • Strong background in food technology, skilled in troubleshooting at lab formulation and manufacturing plant scale-up, customer relationship management and working across multiple teams and functions.
  • Formulation expertise across Bakery, Dairy, Beverage, Meat, Vegetarian, and Culinary Applications and willing to learn and thrive in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Customer Focus/ Action Oriented – Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy and enthusiasm.
  • Drive to results, self-driven and work independently.
  • Excellent communication, both verbal and written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work internally with regional teams and the global Food Ingredients team. Learning agility to grow and develop in a dynamic commercial environment.
  • An advanced degree or PhD will be a plus in chemistry or food engineering.

The position is offered as a full-time position. Preferred location is Germany at our Innovation Center in Bomlitz, there is flexibility across several countries in Europe.
    The Pharma Solutions business will be taking on its next chapter of growth as a trusted partner for the pharmaceutical industry with the announcement to sell Pharma Solutions to Roquette. This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide.The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette. Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with the sales team to support an existing customer portfolio and territory.
  • Develop new leads. Work on leads, supporting customers in their product development activities.
  • Foster close collaborations internally with multiple functions in Technical Service, R&D, Production, Analytical Science, Supply Chain, and Quality/Regulatory functions to provide answers to customers on product and applications related enquiries.
  • Promote METHOCEL™ and ETHOCEL™ cellulosic product solutions to key Customers in the European Bakery, Dairy, Beverage, Meat, Vegetarian, and Culinary market segments. Tailor make presentations based on Customer’s relevant applications.
  • Develop in-depth understanding of customer needs, develop new growth opportunities and maintain an opportunity pipeline. Track opportunities pipeline in Sales Force.
  • Provide technical support for multiple key customer projects via troubleshooting food formulations, generating/analyzing/presenting data, assisting with customer plant trials/scale ups, and defending share.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with customers in R&D and other functions, present our product portfolio and value proposition in key customer applications.
  • Support regional marketing activities: product launches, campaigns, trade shows
