Description:
Automation Field Engineer holds the primary responsibility for providing the field services of automation products to Oil and Gas customers – Onshore & Offshore in the UAE.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning of offshore mobilization / demobilization of project equipment.
- Become familiar with site operations / limitations, to improve design, operational schedule, procedures, and safety.
- Provide regular communication while at site with project office and provide Progress Reports relating directly to project engineering and operational activities, as defined by Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
- Participate in project meetings and toolbox talks when offshore and maintain good communications with Supervisor, Project Manager, and Client where applicable.
- Implement and organize any approved modifications to the Project, ensuring all changes are fully documented as per project procedures.
- Conduct all activities within the Weatherford policies, procedures, and TWI (Technical Work Instructions).
- Provide on-site technical support, maintenance, and installation of RTU systems.
Install, configure, and maintain technical equipment and systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet client specifications.Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site, providing prompt solutions to minimize downtime
Requirements:
- Background in Oil & Gas is essential.
- 3-5 years of Automation / Instrumentation experience required
- Experience of working with SCADA/AutoCAD experience
- Experience of working offshore/on the field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in interacting with customer or other stake holders and understanding their requirements.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Knowledge in communication protocols – MODBUS, Serial communication, DNP3 etc.Willingness for extensive site travel – onshore & offshore.
Qualifications:
- Engineering Degree in Electronics / Electrical / Instrumentation.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
