Within our Medical Division there is currently excellent opportunity for the right person to join our Service Team. Reporting directly to the Regional Medical Service Manager, the successful applicant will be an experienced Service Engineer with a high level of IT skills. Working together with our NSW team, you will provide remote and phone support, remote diagnosis, testing and breakdown repairs to a wide range of high-end devices and software located in Sydney and regional NSW. You will have IT skills and be proficient in Networking, Device Setup and Software navigation. In addition to the technical aspects, this position requires excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
The key responsibilities for this position includes (but not limited to):
- Maintain effective relationships with customers by gaining their respect and trust
- Onsite repairs, surgical microscopes, diagnostics and installation of designated high-end products and software
- Upgrade software and apply patches as necessary
- Strong troubleshooting skills, provide technical support for customers and escalate as necessary
- May consult with other vendors to mutually agree on a resolution
- Ability to communicate technical issues on a non-technical level
- Detail oriented with excellent time management skills and networking experience
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures
- Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
- Maintain service tools and equipment and provide accurate compliance of all field service administration and reporting requirements
The key skills required for this role include:
- Formal qualifications in an electronic / engineering / IT field
- Experience in servicing of precision equipment or IT support is required preferably within the Medical Device field
- Strong IT knowledge and awareness in PC supported instrument diagnostics would be an advantage. A high level of computer literacy and networking is essential with the ability to work unsupervised
- Knowledge of the DICOM standard, SQL and PACS is desirable
- Past proven experience in a customer orientated environment with exceptional customer service and the ability to deal with difficult situations and customers
- Demonstrated experience using networking skills
- Regional Travel will be required up to 50% of the time
- A forward thinker who can prevent problems before they arise
- A process driven individual who has the ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible often dealing with ad-hoc queries from customers
- Strong organizational and communication skills
