A Day in the Life
Join our Nordic Service & Repair department, a rapidly growing team at Medtronic. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to support our customers across Finland. Your focus will be providing the highest levels of field service and customer support across a wide range of products to customers. Mainly starting with specializing on O-arms and Surgical Innovation (SI) products like FT10 generators.
This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance customer experience and loyalty while driving service revenue and commercial opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in implementing the strategy for Service and Repair in Finland, with the goal of establishing us as an uncontested market leader as a serviceprovider across all sectors.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Leading and executing installations, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
- Proactively engaging customers, providing expert support and building strong, long-term relationships
- Troubleshooting and performing repairs on-site, ensuring systems function according to manufacturer specifications
- Supporting the integration of new products, performing upgrades and configuration updates to existing systems
- Scheduling and conducting preventive maintenance visits to ensure optimal performance of all equipment
- Assisting users with technical support, including phone and remote support
- Acting as a point of escalation for complex technical issues, collaborating with other field service engineers
- Maintaining accurate documentation and ensure compliance with operational guidelines, QA procedures, and safety standards
Required Knowledge and Experience:
- Biomed training/degree or equivalent in electronic/electro-mechanical engineering
- Relevant experience from the medical equipment or healthcare industry, where experience working in a hospital environment or with X-ray or Operating Room (OR) products is an advantage
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Finnish and English
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Effective presentation, negotiation skills, and ability to manage stressful situations
- Dedicated to building long-term relationships and exceeding customer expectations
- Experience with Service Max, Good Documentation Practice (GDP) knowledge, and ESD precautions would be valued
