Job Description:
AMETEK NSI-MI is the premier source for advanced RF measurement solutions for aerospace, defense, satellite, wireless applications and beyond. Our elite team of experts oversee every step of the design, construction, and system integration process of measurement systems that are used to measure customer test articles such as antennas, radars, satellites, and similar equipment. These test systems are comprised of extremely high-precision mechanical positioners of varying sizes and RF instrumentation that work in unison. The long lifetime of these systems requires expert preventive and corrective support for the mechanical and RF subsystems that is performed at customer sites worldwide. The NSI-MI field service team is committed to providing best-in-class long-term support that customers can count on to ensure their critical testing needs are met.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be able to work and troubleshoot independently with minimum supervision
  • Tactfully handle difficult situations and maintain composure under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Troubleshooting system level electronic systems
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams and engineering drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software (Windows-based)
  • Additional requirements include ability to:
  • Drive company vehicle
  • Pack and ship test equipment
  • Perform some lifting

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Performing bench level measurements of RF Active and Passive Components such as: LNA, Amplifiers, Couplers, Power Dividers, Limiters, Mixers, Frequency Multipliers, Diplexers, and Filters
  • Strong background in RF systems such as radar, satellite, or telecom
  • Experience with servo motors and control systems
  • Programming skills (C, C#, python, or similar)
  • Experience with terrestrial radar systems
    Required Travel: 50%

    Education Level: University Diploma (e.g. Bachelors FH) - Desired

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional responses in a timely manner to all customers
  • Support customer test/production facilities on regularly scheduled or as-required basis for calibrations other services
  • Perform precision system alignment of multiple axes using laser tracker or other optical tools to accuracies in the order of 10 µm
  • Exhibit excellent diagnostic abilities to isolate issues and repair equipment
  • Ability to analyze diverse requirements in RF/Microwave measurements with a good understanding of mechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair computer hardware and software
  • Prepare and comprehensive Field Service Reports, Calibration Certificates, and other documentation in a timely manner
  • Manage time and priorities so that tasks are completed on or ahead of schedule
  • Develop outstanding relationships with Company’s customers to enhance future business opportunities
  • Ensure that customers are aware of Company’s new products (hardware and software) to support system upgrades
  • Support the customer in every way possible to keep their test systems and ranges operating in the manner required
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • This position will require extensive domestic and international travel
