Your responsibilities and tasks:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will work independently or as part of a small team to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting at our customers’ sites. All activities will be performed based on our work instructions, procedures, and guidelines, with safety as the top priority. You will identify customer needs and report them in a timely and professional manner, adhering to company standards. Additionally, you will ensure that all work complies with the company’s quality guidelines.
Our customers are located throughout Finland, making travel an essential part of the job since most of your work will be performed at their sites. While most of the travel will be within Finland, occasional trips to Sweden and Norway will also be expected. Therefore, you should anticipate traveling 3-4 days a week consistently throughout the year.

Furthermore, you will:

  • Perform both planned and unplanned maintenance on SFT equipment, including separators, decanters & homogenizers.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new machines and process lines. This includes conducting FAT, SAT, optimizing process parameters in user interfaces (PLC and SCADA), and fine-tuning timers, controllers, and general operations.
  • Provide technical support, whether on-site or remotely, in the event of equipment breakdowns or technical issues.
  • Train operators and first-line maintenance personnel at customer sites in accordance with company standards.
  • Implement upgrades on existing installations to enhance product performance.
  • Professionally prepare for service assignments, inform customers about the work completed, the current condition of their equipment, and any necessary improvements.

Your profile and qualifications:
The ideal candidate has experience with mechanical and electrical assembly and disassembly, along with the use of necessary hand tools. It is beneficial if you have firsthand experience with electrical and control technology (Siemens S5/S7, TIA) and are focused on providing flexible, efficient, and personal service to meet customer needs.

Moreover, we imagine that you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Are proficient in Finnish (fluent), English (good).
  • Are flexible regarding travel and working hours, as these can be irregular and tailored to customer requirements (3-4 days a week throughout the year).
  • Have excellent communication skills.
  • Are proficient in conflict resolution and handling pressure to meet customer demands.
  • Excel at building relationships with customers and internally within GEA.
