Description:
CAREER OPPORTUNITY
GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for a Field Service Team Lead.
As a Field Service Team lead you are responsible for leading a team of Field Service Technicians in safely installing, commissioning, servicing, and / or operating sonar systems at local test facilities and offsite on customer vessels. You will work within a diverse multi-disciplinary program team and interface directly with various subcontractors and customer representatives. When not in the field you will provide technical and logistical support to teams in the field and the planning and coordination of future trips and projects. Frequent international travel will be required, some of which will be at short notice.
We welcome applications from individuals with experience as a Weapons Engineering Technician/ (Chief) Petty Officer, Marine Superintendent, Maintenance Supervisor, Installation Supervisor, Field Service Supervisor, or related fields.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in a relevant Technology program.
- 3-5 years of experience as a lead technologist/technician working with electro-mechanical equipment.
- Experience working overseas and in foreign cultures is considered an asset. and / or experience with military sensor systems.
- Marine and or military sensor system experience is an asset.
- Supervisory experience is an asset.
- Self-motivated with a drive to get things done.
- Proactive communicator; both internal and client-focused.
- Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Able to work in a dynamic environment and develop procedures where gaps exist.
- Must hold a valid Canadian passport.
- Able and willing to travel on short notice and travel for weeks at a time any time of the year.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities:
- Lead team of multi disciplined team of technicians and technologists on the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of GTI sonar systems in local and international ports.
- Develop and maintain in field workplans that are specific to the project and scope of trip.
- Ensure that technicians have the necessary resources (e.g., tools, equipment, and parts) to do their jobs effectively.
- Coordinate with other departments such as Major Programs, ILS, and Engineering to ensure alignment and communicate any updates or requirements.
- Serve as a safety lead for team ensuring all field personal follow health and safety guidelines when working in the field.
- Following company quality standards oversee the completion and review of field level verification and instructional documentation.
- Gain expertise in the features, operation, and maintenance of GeoSpectrum sonar systems.
- Support the operation and commissioning of GTI sonar systems at sea acceptance test events.
- When not in the field, provide remote technical customer support.
