Description:

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Requires a degree in engineering, biology, chemistry or related field or equivalent work experience and knowledge.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Effective and customer focused communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Basic technical, electro-mechanical and/or laboratory instrument knowledge.
  • Customer attitude: Knowledge of and ability to enable customer satisfaction.
  • Strong self-organizing and administrative skills, enabled to flexible and independently work after a training period.
  • Exercises sound logic and judgment setting work priorities.
  • Be a team-player, positively supporting to the team.
  • Can adapt to change with positive and constructive feedback.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Some experience in a related science, engineering and/or customer facing role is considered an asset.
  • Experience in a clinical, diagnostics and/or other regulated environment
  • Interest in learning and understanding IT systems and processes
  • Experience in related product applications
  • Open to relocation as other field service opportunities arise in North America

Responsibilities:

  • Provides planned maintenance (PM) and repair services for innovative instruments in the Life Sciences customer segment.
  • Displays a level of professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness and technical knowledge in all customer interactions.
  • Accurately reports Field Service and Qualification resports to customers and be compliant to critical issues handling procedures.
  • Adopts our policies that pertain to the handling of spare parts: ordering, usage, returns, physical count, car stock management, etc.
  • Maintains their technical proficiency by attending trainings, staff meetings and remaining up to speed on new products, markets, customers and competitors.
  • Handles travel expenses according to Thermo Fisher travel policies and guidelines.
  • Executes Qualification & Validation services at customer sites as required.
  • Collaborates with internal partners and peers to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
  • Has regular, open and appropriate communication on work execution with management.
  • May be required to perform other related duties when required and/or assigned.
