Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Field Service Technician for Carrier, you will be involved in servicing and repairing water-cooled and air-cooled chillers, which are important components of HVAC systems. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, diagnosing, and maintaining these chillers to ensure they operate efficiently and meet clients’ cooling needs. Additionally, you will be expected to identify potential issues, offer solutions, and keep accurate records of your service activities to uphold Carrier’s standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Your expertise will play a key role in maintaining the optimal performance of these essential cooling systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Field Service Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Inspection and Diagnosis - Conduct detailed inspections of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers to identify any issues or potential problems affecting their performance.
  • Maintenance and Repair - Perform routine maintenance tasks and necessary repairs on the chillers to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Efficiency Optimization - Implement strategies to optimize the efficiency of the chillers, such as adjusting settings, cleaning components, and replacing worn-out parts.
  • Problem-Solving - Utilize troubleshooting skills to diagnose complex issues with the chillers and develop effective solutions to address them promptly.
  • Client Communication - Interact with clients to understand their cooling requirements, provide updates on service activities, and offer recommendations for improving chiller performance.
  • Record-Keeping - Maintain accurate records of service activities, including inspections, repairs, parts replacements, and client communications, to track the maintenance history of each chiller and ensure compliance with service protocols.
  • Works under direct supervision to perform on-site field service directly to customers regarding installing, updating, operating, maintaining, repairing and removing of equipment to meet customer requirements.
  • Uses standard procedures to install, test, service and repair basic equipment to conform with company operating specifications and customer requirements.
  • Uses standard procedures to perform basic on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration after installation.
  • Inspects equipment on a regular basis to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintains equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations, or tests and submits weekly reports summarizing these activities.
