Shermco Canada is seeking a Field Service Technician – Co-Op Student.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ideal candidates will possess strong technical (electrical), analytical and computer abilities coupled with excellent organization, time management, communication and interpersonal skills.
- This position also requires candidates to perform as a team player that is committed to the success of the team as well as the organization as a whole.
- Successful candidates will be self-motivated individuals that strive to exceed quality benchmarks while demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction and a willingness to learn.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and able to maintain a clean abstract.
- Must be available to work out-of-town and regular overnight travel.

Responsibilities:
- Assist all members of the team in providing technical services to Shermco’s clients;
- Assist the senior members of the team, in commissioning and maintaining electrical apparatus, as well as troubleshooting problems and developing solutions for Shermco’s clients;
- Develop hands-on experience and proficiency in all aspects of the electrical power systems control, protection and distribution engineering, as well as testing and commissioning;
- Have the ability to work on various teams with personnel to perform an array of tasks;
- Be committed to continued self-improvement in all personal and professional endeavours;
- Have the ability to travel throughout Canada on various projects, as is needed. It is to be understood that certain projects will require some degree of travel from home base;
- Perform all duties to a level of competency, normally expected of a Student Technical Services Representative;
- Will be responsible to become familiar with, abide by, and to administer the Shermco Health, Personnel and Safety policies;
- Will adhere to Shermco’s Alcohol and Drug Policy as defined; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
