The Field Service Technician I is responsible for the delivery of high-quality customer service, performing preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of Hach devices located at our customer sites. The customer base for this role is anticipated to be a combination of municipal (i.e., drinking and wastewater treatment facilities) and industrial (i.e., power plants and food and beverage plants).
This position is part of the North America Field Service Team located in the Brooklyn, NY area and will be remote.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED?

  • Associates/Technical degree preferred, or combination of education and experience.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is a must - experience with preventative maintenance and technical diagnostics/repair is helpful, but not required.
  • 1 or more years of field service experience and/or customer-facing roles preferred.
  • You have a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, routine repair, and calibration/verification of instrumentation using established company standard work.
  • Promotes a positive customer experience and serves as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Submits prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.
  • Follows safe work practices according to company policy.
  • Executes administrative activities in support of service visits.
  • 60-75% travel within a Two-Hour radius of Brooklyn, New York. You can expect to have up to two nights away each week with company-paid accommodations and meals.
