Responsibilities:

YOUR ROLE AT BAXTER

This position is based out of the Mississauga, Ontario Canadian technical service building and reporting to the field service operations manager of central and eastern Canada.
The Field Service Technician (FST II) performs complex repair work on all customer and company owned medical equipment. Responsible for performing the assignments related to product readiness for patient utilization on a wide range of medical products. This position requires operating a fleet vehicle in a safe manner as well as direct customer contact. Additionally, the Field Service Technician will provide delivery, removal, and service support for products in service centers and customer accounts in a timely and professional manner. This role will require participation in the on-call rotation to provide 24/7 coverage and overnight travel on an as-required basis.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Use manufacturer service manuals and documentation to provide advanced troubleshooting, root cause and repair while working independently (repairs that are beyond minor cosmetic repairs or component replacements)
  • Perform electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair of assigned products.
  • Assess assigned products and prepare written estimates for repairs.
  • Generate ‘fee for service’ work.
  • Perform “engineering” in-services which includes providing a technical breakdown of the product and communication of the technical performance of the product.
  • Schedule, coordinate and complete small to medium-sized projects under the direction of Mgr, Service Operations. Ensure internal/external resources are completing project work and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate parts ordering/shipping with the customer and use hand-held device to leverage work order management system to document in-field service work order with high attention to details.
  • Provide excellent customer service through assessing customer needs and addressing them in a timely manner. Develop and maintain good relationships with various levels of internal and external customers.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Ensure safety training, meeting and medical testing requirements are kept up-to-date.
  • Operate safely within guidelines and regulations.
  • Adhere to all Transport Canada regulations including pre/post trip inspections, Hours of Service etc.
