Commissionaires Southern Alberta is responsible for providing professional security services for Calgary, Red Deer, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, and Suffield. As part of our ever-expanding work force, we are looking for a Field Supervisor - Headquarters - FT

POSITION SUMMARY

The Field Supervisor will provide supervision, oversight and direction to commissionaires working at client sites. The Field Supervisor will work closely with the Regional Manager (RM) and Client Services Managers (CSM) (as applicable) to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, efficient services to our clients in accordance with all company policies, laws and regulations and contractual service commitments.

SKILLS, ABILITIES & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Must possess a valid AB Security License
  • Must be fluent in the English language – written, verbal and reading skills.
  • Must possess valid first aid or be willing to obtain it.
  • A Class 5 (Non-GDL) License and a clean driver’s abstract for driving positions (Strong Asset)
  • Computer skills ability to learn technology devices (phones, equipment)
  • Have a positive attitude with a professional demeanor, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Commissionaires Enterprise Management System (CEMS)
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic leadership skills with demonstrated ability to form and maintain long-term positive working relationship with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work comfortably in a team environment, multi-task, and support concurrent requirements for different internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to deal with difficult issues and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand, walk, sit for long periods at a time.
  • Have exceptional attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing.
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts including over-nights and weekends.
  • Former RCMP/Military experience and Military family member (Strong Asset)

Responsibilities:

  • Control access to establishments, issues passes if required and direct or escort visitors.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and coordination to front line staff.
  • Regular and frequent site visits and no-notice inspections to perform quality assurance inspections on front-line staff at any time on any shift day.
  • Follow up on issues related to short notice / emergency guard fills & replacements in conjunction with Scheduling.
  • Report incidents / issues that have the potential to affect the Company to the RM while keeping the RM informed (service failure, serious injury/event, critical security incident etc.)
  • Ensure site documentation is up to date (post orders, site safety inspections, training records, etc.)
  • Work with scheduling to ensure shifts are entered in the system ahead of time, all shifts are covered at all times, scheduling irregularities are investigated and closed and to identify temporary placement requirements for vacation or LOA etc.
  • Work with scheduling and payroll to ensure admin and pay submissions for guards are correct; assist with pay issues and correct any scheduling errors as required.
  • Ensure sufficiently trained spares are identified in the event replacement guards are required.
  • Assist with monitoring the capability and deploy ability of staff the casual list to ensure the right guard is placed in the right location at the right time.
  • Support communication initiatives with front line staff such as the distribution of memos, news-flashes, etc.
  • Support the completion of performance evaluations for front-line staff.
  • Be Prepared To (BPT) Perform Client liaison as directed by the CSM/RM
  • BPT conduct Site Inspections/Recce’s for new contracts as requested.
  • BPT provide site orientation/training to new guards on new sites.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager
