Description:
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHALL HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
- Completion of post-secondary diploma, or degree in business administration, or a related field is an asset
- Prior dispatch experience (i.e. traffic control, construction, transportation, e-comm) is an asset
- Strong leadership, organizational and administrative skills
- Learning agility and willing to continually learn and develop
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written
- Recognized for positive outlook and enthusiastic attitude
- Demonstrates a conscientious mindset – Committed to doing the best job possible within a given deadline.
- Safety conscious
- Willing to work in all weather conditions
- Able to work within a team environment
- Strong proficiency in computer systems and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Sound understanding of accounts payable cycle and basic accounting knowledge is an asset
Responsibilities:
- Receives dispatches and schedules work accordingly.
- Provides leadership to direct reports; in job performance, compliance, and according to WorkSafe requirements.
- Working alongside and leading a crew of up to five to six (5 – 6) employees in general labour duties consisting of: traffic control, vegetation control, landscape maintenance, infrastructure maintenance, and various other labour-type projects
- Ensuring your team has the correct knowledge/skills, training, tools, and supervision necessary to successfully perform their duties
- Continuously monitoring operations with senior managers to identify opportunities for improvement and successes
- Ensuring team members meet deadlines and productivity measures for key projects and tasks
- Provide training and mentorship for new and existing employees
- Keep team up to speed on policies and procedures, as well as Job Standards and expectations
