Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Field Technician for full-time field-based activities to be based out of the Markham, Ontario office with travel to sites in York Region and Toronto. The work will involve a 40 hr work week with optional paid overtime and includes working as a crew of 2 planning daily maintenance activities from scheduled service work orders and proceeding to install and maintain flow monitoring equipment as required. AECOM will provide all required training including:
- Confined Space Entry
- Traffic Control
- Working at Heights
- First Aid / CPR
- Defensive driving
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.
- Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out tasks.
- Assist with fieldwork (e.g., flow meter installation and maintenance, rain gauge calibrations).
- Provide flow data quality assurance/analysis/reporting.
- Work with industry-standard computer software such as MS Office and ArcGIS.
- Provide GIS support in the preparation of maps, drawings, and schematics.
- Maintain a general understanding of procedures, and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High-school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A college diploma is preferred but not mandatory.
- An understanding of wastewater collection systems and flow monitoring is preferred but not mandatory.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness/ability to work with their hands.
