Description:

SUMMARY

The Field Service Technician will perform mechanical and/or electrical service work on Jenbacher Gas Engines that range in power from 0.35 to 4.5 MW, and run on either natural gas or a variety of other gases (e.g., biogas, landfill gas)., including but not limited to commissioning, troubleshooting, periodic maintenance, and overhaul.
We seek a candidate who has a core foundation of integrity and is willing and able to use commitment and creativity to drive our organization towards success. This position is located in Eastern Canada

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 years’ field service work experience.
  • Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic, Natural Gas Compression, Automotive, or Millwright Certificate.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability and willingness to drive long distances.
  • Possess a well-rounded knowledge of engine, generator, controls, and balance of plant considered an asset.
  • High voltage, non-diesel generator, automation and controls, or PLC control experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to use computer technology and SAP experience is considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated team player with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Clean drivers abstract must be provided at time of hire.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment health assessment including a drug and alcohol test.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in a safe manner and in accordance with the company HSE policies.
  • Execute service on the engines in compliance with the maintenance protocol. For example checking oil, replace filters and valves and diverse types of measurements.
  • Carry out minor repairs on the engine additional to the planned service
  • Execute major service on the engine in cooperation with colleagues in compliance with the protocol for major service
  • Troubleshooting engines in the field of electronics and mechanics
  • Create a service report that includes reason for visit, symptoms, actions, use of materials, parts and hours, the result and if needed follow-up actions
  • Process timesheets, expense reports, Health and Safety forms, and job reports in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with Service Manager on repair strategies to accurately inform customer quotes.
  • Work effectively as part of a team of technicians or independently
  • Maintain and develop positive professional relationships with existing and potential internal and external customers.
  • Participate in internal and external training courses as an opportunity for career growth and development.
  • Be available to participate in on-call rotation for after-hour calls as required.
