Description:
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As an (entry-level) Field Technician I at SCS Engineers, you will gain basic knowledge of the terminology, processes, and equipment used in the operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OM&M) of various environmental control systems, while gaining basic knowledge of health and safety requirements. Your tasks will be straightforward, providing a solid foundation for your career growth. You will report to a senior-level supervisor, such as a Project Superintendent or a Project Manager. We are looking for a Field Technician to service the Providence, RI area.
QUALIFICATIONS
- No experience is required; however, it is preferred that you have experience in one of the following fields: mechanical, construction, environmental, or solid waste.
- Expected to possess or be willing to complete a 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 preferred (training will be provided if not current).
- Basic knowledge in the use of various computer/technology skills including Smartphones, Tablets, and Microsoft Office Programs (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
- A valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing is required.
- Must meet physical requirements and pass a human performance evaluation (HPE).
- Physical requirements include driving (pick-up truck), walking inspection of improved and unimproved property, lifting, and carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand excavation/digging (using shovels/picks), carrying, and climbing ladders, operating manlifts and working from man lifts, operating electric tools (drills, saws, etc.), using hand tools (screw drivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.) and providing services under varying weather conditions.
