Description:

Onstream Pipeline Inspection Services Inc. is a provider of Inline and Tethered MFL inspection services to oil and gas pipeline operators, currently servicing the North American market. Due to continued growth Onstream is now accepting applications for the position of Field Technician (based in Calgary). Apply today!

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

  • Degree or Diploma or equivalent experience specializing in at least one of the following (preferred): Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, Electronics Technology
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver License (or equivalent, no GDL) with clean driving abstract
  • Valid passport with ability to travel to the US (asset)
  • Current safety tickets: H2S Alive, Standard First Aid & CPR, CSTS or PST

EXPERIENCE

  • A technical or electro-mechanical background
  • Individuals who have worked in the Oil and Gas, pipeline or related industry

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Basic knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong computer skills and ability to work with proprietary software
  • Ability to complete tasks fully in a timely and quality manner
  • Ability to maintain poise, quality of work and efficiency during busy times
  • Flexible work hours and ability to travel 75% + of the time
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to maintain concentration over long periods of time
  • Self-regulated with a strong sense of pride in ones work
  • Strong social skills for communicating with co-workers and clients
  • Professional personal presentation

Responsibilities:

  • Perform Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance on Pipeline Inspection tools
  • Assist/lead field operations, launching, tracking and receiving inspection tools
  • Completing preliminary field data analysis on site
  • Interface with clients onsite
  • Maintain proper tools and supplies as needed for field operations
  • Considerable driving is involved in this role
  • Field work (travel) with some Shop days (Calgary)
