DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • A relevant associate or bachelor’s degree in Soil Science, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent education in soil analysis or fieldwork.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain meticulous records.
  • Experience with agricultural sensors and laboratory management is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently in a warehouse or field setting, demonstrating reliability and a proactive approach.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Field Technician / Soil Scientist at ZeroEx, you will be at the forefront of our soil and feedstock operations. This role involves overseeing the collection, analysis, and management of soil samples from our commercial deployments, ensuring all data is accurately recorded and handled. Your work will directly support our mission to advance carbon removal technologies, requiring a blend of field expertise, laboratory skills, and meticulous data management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Field Technician / Soil Scientist to lead the hands-on aspects of our soil and feedstock management. Key responsibilities include:

Fieldwork: Conducting fieldwork to collect and sort soil and feedstock samples.

  • Sample Analysis: Analyzing samples both in the field and laboratory.
  • Data Management: Managing data entry and inventory, ensuring data accuracy for our MRV processes.
  • Sample Coordination: Coordinating the processing and organization of samples, ensuring proper documentation and accessibility for analysis.
  • Collaboration: Working with the broader team to integrate field data into our overall carbon removal strategies, maintaining high standards of data integrity and reliability.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE

  • Managing the collection, labeling, and storage of soil and feedstock samples.
  • Performing sample analysis in various settings, including field, greenhouse, and laboratory environments.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of sample data and inventory.
  • Generating and managing work orders for third-party analysis, and overseeing sample packaging and shipping.
  • Coordinating with team members to ensure efficient processing of large volumes of samples.
  • Handling the physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving samples up to 23 kg.
